One trail, done properly
Plenty of companies will sell you a Hadrian's Wall holiday alongside four hundred other trips. We made the opposite bet: specialise in a single National Trail and know it to the level of which B&B serves breakfast early enough for a long day, which field gate turns to soup after a wet fortnight, and which "shortcut" on the map costs more than it saves.
The team behind this site has been organising self-guided walking on Hadrian's Wall for over a decade, arranging crossings for thousands of walkers, from first-timers nervous about a single ten-mile day to trail veterans checking off another National Trail.
What we actually do
- Book your accommodation, real B&Bs and inns we work with year after year, not an anonymous booking engine.
- Move your luggage, collected after breakfast, delivered to your next bed by late afternoon, every walking day.
- Prepare your route pack, maps, honest daily notes, transport guidance and tide information for the Solway stages.
- Answer the phone, a 24/7 support line while you're on the trail, because blisters and closed pubs don't keep office hours.
What we don't do: guides walking with you (this is self-guided walking, that's the freedom of it), meals beyond breakfast, or your travel to and from the trail. The what's included page draws the line precisely.
Our editorial standards
The information on this site follows rules we think every walking-holiday website should follow, and most don't:
- Distances, terrain and logistics come from operating this trail, checked against official National Trails information.
- Difficulty descriptions say which days are hard and why, not "suitable for all abilities".
- We publish no reviews we cannot attribute, no awards we haven't won, and no photographs of places that aren't on this route.
- Guides carry a last-reviewed date, and anything we cannot yet verify is either omitted or clearly marked.
- If you find an error, tell us, corrections are made, not argued with.
