Every one of our holidays includes the same core service. Here is the complete list, followed by an equally complete list of what you arrange yourself. No asterisks.
Included in every holiday
- Bed & breakfast accommodation, every night
- B&Bs, guesthouses and inns along the route, booked and confirmed before you travel. Breakfast included every morning. How accommodation works.
- Daily luggage transfer
- One bag per person, up to 20 kg, moved from B&B to B&B every walking day. Ready by 9am, delivered by 5pm. Full transfer details.
- Route pack: maps, notes and profiles
- Daily route notes written for this trail, including elevation profiles, food and water points, exposed sections and Solway tide guidance, plus mapping for the whole route.
- 24/7 support line
- A number that answers around the clock while you're walking, for anything from injury logistics to a B&B mix-up.
- Off-trail accommodation transfers
- Where your booked accommodation sits away from the path, transport between trail and bed is arranged and included, you never add road miles on foot.
You arrange
- Lunches and evening meals
- Pubs, cafés and village shops handle most days; our notes flag the stages where you must carry lunch. Budget roughly £15–£30 per day depending on appetite and ale.
- Travel to the start and from the finish
- You make your own way to the trail and home again, your route pack includes the practical options, and the travel guide covers them in detail.
- Travel insurance
- Strongly recommended, covering walking holidays and cancellation. We're a walking company, not an insurance one, so we won't recommend a specific policy, but do have one.
- Attraction entry fees
- Forts and museums (Housesteads, Chesters, Vindolanda, Birdoswald, Segedunum) charge their own admission; English Heritage or trust memberships often pay for themselves on this trip.
- Personal kit
- Boots, waterproofs, daypack, the packing list tells you exactly what earns its place in 20 kg.
If a comparison with another operator's inclusions leaves anything unclear, ask us directly, we'd rather explain a difference than have you discover it on the trail.
