What drives the price
Almost entirely the number of nights. Each night bundles a B&B room with breakfast, a luggage move and its share of the logistics, which is why the eight-walking-day Unhurried Wall costs more than the six-day Classic Crossing: it's simply more holiday, not a premium tier.
Why single rooms cost more
A solo walker uses a room that would otherwise sleep two, and small trail B&Bs can't discount that away. We publish single prices as prominently as shared ones because solo walkers deserve arithmetic, not surprises. Two solo friends can book a twin and each pay the shared rate.
What you'll spend on top
- Lunches and dinners: roughly £15–£30 per day, depending on pubs versus shop sandwiches.
- Travel to and from the trail: varies wildly by starting point, the travel guide lays out the options.
- Fort and museum entry: budget for the sites you'll actually visit, or bring an English Heritage membership.
- Travel insurance: required by good sense rather than by us.
When you pay
Nothing at enquiry. Once you approve a firm quote, a deposit secures the booking and the balance falls due before departure, the exact schedule comes with your quote and the how booking works page walks through it.
