What we collect and why
Enquiry details. When you submit the enquiry form we receive the details you enter, name, contact details and your holiday requirements. We use them solely to answer your enquiry and, if you book, to operate your holiday (which means sharing necessary details, names, dietary needs, arrival dates, with the B&Bs and transfer providers involved in your trip).
Booking records. If you book, we keep booking and payment records for as long as tax law requires.
Nothing else. No accounts, no marketing lists you didn't ask for, no data sold or shared for advertising. If we ever introduce a newsletter it will be strictly opt-in.
Cookies
This site sets a session cookie and a security (CSRF) cookie, both essential for the enquiry form to work, neither used for tracking, both expiring quickly.
If you accept analytics when asked, we also load Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to help us understand which pages walkers find useful (with IP anonymisation on, and no advertising features). If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, Google Analytics never loads. Your choice is remembered for 12 months in a small preference cookie (wh_consent), and you can change your mind by deleting this site's cookies in your browser.
If analytics is enabled on this site it is configured with IP anonymisation, used only in aggregate to understand which pages help visitors, and never joined to your enquiry details.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted (subject to legal retention of booking records). Use the enquiry form and mark your message "privacy request"; the same small team answers privacy requests and trail questions.
Who we are
The data controller is Walk Hadrians Holidays, trading as Walk Hadrians Wall. Registered business details are available on request.
